• [MF1]: The center area of the picture is
enlarged. You can focus while
considering the overall
composition of the picture.
• [MF2]: The whole picture is enlarged. You
can easily focus when you are not
sure of the focus at Wide.
• [OFF]: The screen is not enlarged.

Press [MENU/SET] to close the
menu.
• You can also close the menu by
pressing the shutter button halfway.
• You can also use the joystick to perform
steps 2 to 6.

To set and to close
n Shifting the enlarged section
You can shift the enlarged section while
enlarging the picture with MF assistance.
The function is convenient for changing the
point on which you want to focus.
1 Move the joystick e/r to display MF
assistance.
2 Press cursor buttons e/r/w/q to shift
the enlarged section.
• The picture enlargement is canceled
about 2 seconds later.
• The displayed picture returns to the
original MF assist area when:
–The Focus switch is set to [AF] or
[AFw].
–The number of recording pixels or the
aspect is changed.
–The camera is turned off.
