Removal and Replacement Procedures

Processors (include grease)
Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor-M 1.7-GHz
Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor-M 1.6-GHz
Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor-M 1.4-GHz
1. Prepare the notebook for disassembly (Section 5.3).
2. Release the keyboard (Section 5.8).
3. Remove the heat sink (Section 5.12).
4. Use a flat bladed screwdriver to turn the processor locking
screw one-quarter turn counterclockwise 1.
5. Remove the processor from the system board socket 2.

Note that the gold triangle 3 on the processor should be aligned
in the front left corner when you install the processor.
Removing the Processor
Reverse the above procedure to install the processor.
