Follow these easy steps to install your switch. The rest of this chapter provides
details on these steps.
1. Prepare the installation site

Depending on where you will install your Series 4100gl switch, it may be
easier to install the modules first. The modules are "hot swappable"
though, so they can also be installed and removed after the switch is
powered on.
Note: Make sure you use only HP ProCurve Switch gl Modules in
your Series 4100gl Switches.
Switches have a slot in the back for installing a second, load-sharing
power supply. If you have purchased this supply, it may be easier to install
it before mounting the switch.
