Pause tells your phone to wait until
the call connects before it

the call connects, and then to
prompt you for confirmation before
it sends the next digit(s).
'n' tells your phone to prompt you
for a number before dialling the call.
The number you enter is inserted
into the dialling sequence in place
of the
character.
