4 Roam Indicator – The roam
indicator W shows when your
phone is seeking or using a network
outside your home network.
5 Active Line Indicator – Shows h
to indicate an active call, or g to
indicate when call diverting is on.
Indicators for a dual-line-enabled SIM
card can include:
f line 1 active
i line 1 call
divert on
e line 2 active
j line 2 call
divert on
When push to talk (PTT) service is
available on your phone, indicators show
when you can make and receive PTT calls
(m) or both PTT calls and Instant
Messages (p).

To dial a number from the home screen, press
number keys and N.
Press the centre key s to open the main
menu. Soft key labels show the current soft
key functions. For soft key locations, see
page 1.
Press the navigation key S up, down, left, or
right in the home screen to open basic
features. You can show or hide icons for these
features in the home screen, and change the
icons that are shown (for more information
about changing icons in the home screen, see
page 93).
6 Messaging Presence Indicator –
Shows when instant messaging
(IM) is active. Indicators can
include:

s invisible to

The Java™ indicator z shows when a
Java application is active.
7 Message Indicator – Shows when
you receive a new message.
Indicators can include:

8 Location Indicator – Shows when
your phone can send location

1 Signal Strength Indicator – Vertical bars
show the strength of the network
connection. You can't make or receive
calls when 1 or 0 shows.
2 EDGE/GPRS Indicator – Shows
when your phone is using a
high-speed Enhanced Data for GSM
Evolution (EDGE) or General Packet Radio
Service (GPRS) network connection.
Indicators can include:
