Never use an electrical hand hand tool that has
a defective switch. An electrical tool that can no
longer be switched on or off is dangerous and
must be repaired.

Store electrical hand tools not in use out of the
reach of children. Do not allow people to operate
the tool who are not familiar with the appliance
or who have not read these instructions. Electrical
tools are dangerous if used by inexperienced
persons.

Maintain the appliance with care. Check to see
that moving appliance parts are functioning cor-
rectly and are not jamming, whether parts are
broken or damaged and that the functioning of
the appliance is not impaired. Arrange for dam-
aged components to be repaired before using
the appliance. Many accidents have their origin
in poorly maintained electrical hand tools.

components only in accordance with these in-
structions and in such a manner as is detailed
for the particular types of appliance. Take heed
of the operating conditions and the activities to
be performed. The use of electrical tools for pur-
poses other than their intended applications can
result in dangerous situations.
General Safety and Usage Instruc-
tions for Battery-Powered Tools

Ensure that the appliance is switched off before
inserting the battery.
The insertion of a battery into an electrical
appliance that is switched on can lead to
accidents.
m Warning! Use exclusively the supplied battery
charger / battery pack. There is a risk of fire if
the battery charger specified for a particular
type of battery is used with other batteries.

In electrical hand tools, use only the battery
packs designated for them.
The use of other battery packs could lead to
personal injuries and an increased risk of fire.

The outer surfaces of the battery and / or the
hand tool must be clean and dry before being
connected to the charging device.
Improper utilisation leads to the risk of receiving

an electric shock, overheating or the the escape
of caustic fluids from the battery.
m Warning! Should caustic fluid escape from the
battery, avoid all physical contact with it! Should
you nonetheless come into contact with it, wash
it off thoroughly with water. If it gets into your
eyes, flush them out with water and seek imme-
diate medical attention.

Keep the unused battery well away from paper
clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other small
metallic objects which could potentially cause
a short circuiting of the contacts. A short circuit
between the battery contacts could cause burns
or a fire.
m Warning! The battery pack must not be short
circuited. The result could be overheating, the
risk of a fire or the bursting of the battery pack.
Therefore:
- Never connect a cable to the battery poles of
the battery pack.

Caution! Risk of Explosion! Never throw the
battery pack into fire or water.

Alwaya remove the plug from the power socket
before cleaning or servicing the battery charger
or the battery pack.

Never charge the battery pack if the ambient
temperature is below 10 °C or above 40 °C.

The ventilation openings on the battery charger
must be kept clear at all times.

Ensure that the bonnet is well secured to the
buffing plate.
J
Do not touch any rotating parts!
Before switching on check to ensure that the
buffing plate is not blocked and can start up
without problem.

Check to ensure that the bonnet and the buffing
plate are complete and undamaged. Immediately
exchange torn or damaged bonnets / buffing plates.
J
First switch the appliance on when the buffing
plate is resting on the area to be buffed.
J
Do not use any abrasives; these can destroy
the paint finish.
