    This manual aims to describe the use of Ricoh's new white inks, "RICOH Enhanced Garment Ink Cartridge White1 / White2 Type G2" with RICOH Ri 1000 & RICOH Ri 1000X printers. Those are the new information added to their User Manuals. Please follow these procedures in order to gain the best outputs from the new white inks.

    RICOH Ri 1000/1000X Additional manual 2. Check and update firmware and MIM Check and update firmware. If your firmware version is older than the following, please update it. The firmware version of each printer that supports Type G2 White Ink is as follows.

Check printer discharge condition If the printer is using Type G1 White ink for white head, print a nozzle check and check the white head discharge condition. However, if the printer is using cleaning cartridge for white head, it is not necessary to perform this check.

    RICOH Ri 1000/1000X Additional manual 5. Preparation of Type G2 White Ink cartridges Before using new Type G2 White Ink, please agitate at least 200 times. After filling the cartridge with ink, we recommend that you perform a test print to check the white density before printing.

    RICOH Ri 1000/1000X Additional manual 2. Agitate the ink cartridge. • Hold the white ink cartridge as shown below. • Hold the white ink cartridge with the ink supply port face up. • Shake the ink cartridge at 45° to the left and right (see figure below).

    Ri 1000 : Head 2 is connected to W1 cartridge, Head 3 to W2 cartridge. Ri 1000X: Head 2 is connected to W1A cartridge, Head 3 to W1B cartridge.

  • Page 11 RICOH Ri 1000/1000X Additional manual Press [WHITE ONLY]. Confirm by pressing [YES] to charge the system with cleaning solution. NOTE - Please allow up to 40 mins (approx.) for the system to flush the ink out and full the white lines with cleaning solution.

    RICOH Ri 1000/1000X Additional manual In case of KCMY mode In case of KCMY mode, please follow the procedure below to replace the ink with Type G2 White Ink. STEP1．Remove two cleaning cartridges for White channels. STEP2．Insert the Type G2 White Ink (or Type G2 White Ink (Hi Yield)) cartridges.

STEP8．Wait until filling operation is complete. When “Ready to Print” is displayed, proceed to the next step. STEP9．Perform “Strong” head cleaning on all heads.
