Programming additional tracks dur-
ing programme playback
Adding tracks to a programme that has already started is
possible using the following procedure. Programming of addi-
tional tracks will not interrupt playback of the original pro-
gramme.
Follow steps 1 to 3 of the normal programming proce-
dure.
Press the > / II button.
Additional tracks will be played back at the end of the orig-
inal programme.
Random playback
Use this function to programme the CD player to playback
tracks in a random order. When more than one disc is loaded,
tracks will be randomly played back from all discs. Random
playback is operated with the remote control.
@ Press the RANDOM button.
\f disc data has already been read, the CD player will go di-
rectly to the programming mode and "R-" will light on the
system FL display. Once tracks are programmed random
playback will start automatically.
To cancel the random programme and stop playback:
@ Press the M button.
To cancel the random programme but continue normal
playback:
@ Press the CLEAR button.
Note:
@ Random playback will not operate while the programme
playback mode is engaged (indicated by the PROG indica-
tor). If necessary, press the CLEAR
button to cancel the
mode.
About the "WAIT" and "READY?" in-
dicators
If disc data has not yet been read when the RANDOM or
PROG button is pressed, "WAIT" will appear on the system
FL display while disc data is read. During programme play-
back programming, "READY" will also appear. Programm-
ing is possible once these indicators have gone out.
Repeat playback
Use this function to repeat regular playback, programme play-
back or random playback. During regular playback, the loaded
discs (1, 2 or 3 discs) will be repeatedly played back. During
programme or random playback only the tracks that are pro-
grammed will be repeatedly played back.
@ Press the REPEAT button.
The REPEAT indicator will light on the system FL display.
Regular playback, programme playback or random play-
back will repeat continuously.
To stop repeat playback:
@ Press the @ button.
Playback will stop but the repeat mode will not be cancelled.
To cancel the repeat playback mode:
@ Press the REPEAT button.
The REPEAT indicator will go out.

Press the DISPLAY button on the remote control to alternate
between the following time displays during CD playback.
During normal CD playback:
Track elapsed time display + Track remaining time display >
CD total remaining time display > Clock display
During programme playback or random playback:
Track elapsed time display + Track remaining time display >
Programme total remaining time display (not available for ran-
dom playback) + Clock display
