    PREPARATION FOR USE UNPACKING AND SET-UP Carefully remove the unit from the carton and remove all packing material from the unit. Remove any labels or stickers which may be on the front or top of the set, but do not remove any labels from the back or bottom.     GENERAL OPERATION Power POWER STANDBY Press the POWER on and off. Volume Phones Raise or lower volume level. For personal listening, insert the right plug PHONES from a pair of stereo headphones (not VOLUME VOLUME supplied) into the jack mentioned PHONES at the back of the unit.

    COMPACT DISC OPERATION NORMAL PLAY 1. Use the FUNCTION button to FUNCTION select the CD player (CD). 2. Press CD DOOR OPEN button to open the CD door, and place OPEN the CD into the CD compartment. 3. Close the CD door. The LCD display will show the total number of the disc.

Opening the CD compartment lid while a CD is playing could scratch the disc. Always press the STOP button and wait for the disc to stop rotating before opening the CD compartment lid.

    COMPACT DISC OPERATION (continued) Pause Mode (1) Press the PLAY/PAUSE button during play mode. Play will stop temporarily and the PLAY indicator will flash. (2) Press the PLAY/PAUSE button again to resume play. Track Skip SEARCH (1) Press and release the SEARCH button repeatedly during play to quickly locate the beginning of a particular track.
