3.6. LAN/WAN modes

The device is shipped with LAN mode pre-selected. It means the
user interface of device is available via Ethernet interface, and the
user data is transferred via mobile network interface.
Where no mobile network, the device can use its own Ethernet
port to the internet access. In this case, the device has 2 different
IPv4 IP address on the Ethernet interface. The LAN is same as per
the LAN mode. The WAN address is used by internal processes
that needs to reach services on the WAN, such as the MQTT. This
is the WAN mode.
In WAN mode, the device uses the set Gateway address to reach
the internet across the Gateway. The device will appear with the
configured WAN IP address at the Gateway. These two IP
addresses create the connection between the Gateway and the
Sensformer Connectivity Device. If the connection is established
and the Gateway has internet access and the settings on the
Gateway are correct, then the Sensformer Connectivity Device is
able to use the Gateway to reach the internet. In this mode, the
device cannot try to connect to the GSM network.
In WAN mode, the following services will not be working:
GSM connectivity,
ModBus over TCP,
DHCP server.
When switch the LAN/WAN mode then the device will be
rebooted automatically. After the reboot, the new LAN/WAN
settings will be active.
CAUTION
The IP addresses must be set correctly when configured the
LAN/WAN mode. The wrong IP addresses may cause
malfunctions, or the device may will be inaccessible.
