8. If the heat pump continues to operate without water flow, the installation of a grid flow switch may be required.
This can become necessary if the heat pump is installed below the elevation of the body of water to be heated. The
l
standing pressure from the water can cause the water pressure switch to activate when the circulation pump is off.
Therefore a water flow switch must be used in place of a water pressure switch to determine if incoming water is
being sent to the heat pump. See "Grid Flow Switch (# 0040S)" on page 22.
