Special Features
Motion Detection
(MotionSensor)
Great for amateur surveillance applications.
Motion Detection may function
regardless of the subject's motion
when:
e the background is plain, such as a
white wall.
* recording a subject with distinct
horizontal, vertical or oblique stripes,
such as a window shade.
* the brightness suddenly changes.
Motion Detection may not function
when...
* motion is very slow or very fast.
* moving object is very small.
• motion is in 1 corner of the viewing
area.
e in low light situations (MOTION
DETECTION will flash if the light level
is inadequate.)
Before you begin...
* Connect the Palmcorder to a power source.
For extended periods of recording, it is
recommended to use the AC Adaptor for a
power source.
* Insert a cassette with record tab (see page 10).
* Set the POWER switch to CAMERA
1 In Record/Pause mode, hold down
MOTION DETECT for 2 seconds
(approx.) to set the Palmcorder in
Motion Detection stand-by mode. (If no
cassette tape is inserted, "g will
flash.)

* Palmcorder will start recording
approximately 3 seconds after it
perceives motion.

* When motion ceases, recording will
stop 30 seconds later.

2 Press MOTION DETECT again to
cancel the Motion Detection feature.
Note:
• Make sure the Palmcorder is firmly
secure. If the Palmcorder is moved, the
Motion Detection feature will start,
regardless of the subject being recorded.
¢ While Palmcorder is in motion detection
stand-by mode, Record/Pause, Stand-by
mode, Digital E.1.S., Color Digital Fade,
One-Touch Auto Fade and Negative/
Positive Transposer can not be activated.
