BASIC OPERATION
Direct search - To search for a particular disc or
track (with remote control unit)
in playback or stop mode

The player searches for the specified disc or track, and playback starts
directly from the desired disc or track.
Example
To search for track No. 5 an dis¢ No. 37:
3], 7 (DISC SET}, EB] [TRACK SET]
NOTE:
If the DISC SET button or the TRACK SET button is not pressed in 5
seconds after the digit buttons are pressed, the display returns to the
previous mode.

When the discis selected with the digit buttons and the RANDOM
button in the SINGLE mode, the single random playback resumes
with the specified disc.
@
ifthe player cannot detect the disc, ** ** -no*is displayed for about
3 seconds. In the ALL mode, the next disc is searched for. in the
SINGLE mode, the search operation will stop.
If the player
recognize the vacancy of the disc beforehand, "*** - no* is
displayed for about 3 seconds and then the search operation
continues,

inthe CUSTOM mode, only the selected discs are searched for.
If discs other than selected discs are searched for in CUSTOM
playback mode, **** - no" is displayed for about 3 seconds while
the CUSTOM indicator blinks.
Disc search - To search for a particular disc
in playback or pause mode

The player searches for the specified disc and playback starts from
the beginning of that disc.
Press the DISC NUMBER ~/+ button on the front panel or DISC -/
+ button on the remote control unit. If a disc is searched for in the
stop mode, press PLAY » or ® to resume playback.
@ When DISC NUMBER +, DISC +, or DISC NUMBER -, DISC - is
kept pressed, the player automatically searchs for the disc number
upward or downward.
e@ Pressing DISC NUMBER -~ or DISC ~ on disc No. 1 searches for
disc No. 100. Pressing DISC NUMBER + or DISC + ondisc No. 100
searches for disc No. 1.

The searching speed becomes faster when the button is kept
pressed.
®
The TIME display changes to the DISC display during search. After
the search operation is finished, the display returns to the TIME
display.
@ When DISC NUMBER -/+ or DISC -/+ is pressed in the program
playback
mode,
the program
mode
is cancelled
and the
programmed contents are cleared. All discs are searched for.

inthe CUSTOM mode, only selected discs are searched for.
e@ When DISC NUMBER
-/+ or DISC ~/+ is pressed in random
playback mode, the random playback mode is cancelled, and discs
are searched for in the mode just before the random playback
starts.

track.

Pressing t during search enters the pause mode after the search
operation is finished.
