Troubleshooting
1. Follow the Pressure Relief Procedure on page 14.
Problem
Pump fails to operate.
Pump operates but output is
low on both strokes.
Pump operates, but output is
low on downstroke.
Pump operates, but output is
low on upstroke.
Erratic or accelerated pump
speed.
* To determine if the fluid hose or gun is obstructed, follow the Pressure Relief Procedure, page 14. Disconnect
the fluid hose and place a container at the pump fluid outlet to catch any fluid. Turn the pressure adjustment knob
clockwise just enough to start the pump. If pump starts when power is turned on, the obstruction is in the fluid
hose or gun.

Cause
Obstructed fluid hose or gun/valve;
fluid hose ID is too small.
Fluid dried on displacement rod.
Dirty, worn, or damaged motor
parts.
Obstructed fluid hose or gun/valve;
fluid hose ID is too small.
Air is leaking into the supply con-
tainer.
Held open or worn intake valve or
seals.
Worn packings in displacement
pump.
Held open or worn intake valve or
seals.
Held open or worn intake valve or
seals.
Exhausted fluid supply.
Held open or worn intake valve or
seals.
Held open or worn priming piston.
Worn packings in displacement
pump.
2. Check all possible problems and causes before dis-
assembling the pump.
Open, clear*; use a hose with a larger ID.
Clean. Always stop the pump at the bottom of
the stroke. Keep the enclosed wet cup 1/3
filled with a compatible solvent.
