Varying the sound quality with the
acoustic image (Al) equalizer

The Al equalizer uses the SOFT, SHARP, HEAVY and LIGHT sound
quality coordinates to achieve subtle sound quality settings with ease.

Dial [SOUND EQ] to display "Al EG".
When it is turned clockwise, the settings are selected in the
following sequence.
® HEAVY
©CLEAR
® SOFT
® DISCO
® LIVE
©HALL
® MANUAL
© Al EQ
©FLAT
The SOUND EQ lamp lights more brightly, and "FLAT' is cleared.
Operate [SOUND EQ] jogcap and set the sound
quality as desired.
direction: SOFT-SHARP setting
©IT direction: LIGHT-HEAVY setting
Repeat steps © and © to set the desired sound quality.
The original display is restored on the display panel in about 5
seconds.
To release the equalizer
Dial [SOUND EQ] to display "FLAT".
• The sound quality setting is stored automatically. It is recalled
when "Al EQ" is next selected.
• All recordings are performed at the flat setting even if an alternative
sound quality setting has been selected.

Press [3D Al EQ].
Every time you press the button:
3D Al 1 —- 3D Al 2
t-AI EQ (Light off) J
• If the equalizer is not set at Al mode, it will be switched to Al mode
once [3D Al EQ] is pressed.
• All recordings are performed at the flat setting even if an alternative
sound quality setting has been selected.
