Pressure Relief Procedure
To reduce the risk of serious bodily injury, in-
c l u d i n g f l u i d i n j e c t i o n , s p l a s h i n g i n t h e e y e s o r o n
the skin, or injury from moving parts, always
follow this procedure before checking, adjusting,
cleaning or removing any part of the system and
each time you stop spraying.

time you release the gun trigger. To relieve air
pressure, close the Evenflo regulators and close
t h e b l e e d - t y p e m a s t e r a i r v a l v e .
If you suspect that the Evenflo system is not pro-
perly set to relieve pressure automatically or that
pressure is not fully relieved, close the air
regulators, close the bleed-type master air valve,
trigger the gun to relieve pressure. Slowly and
carefully loosen a fluid hose fitting and relieve
p r e s s u r e g r a d u a l l y .
Accessory
Relax-A-Valve
To set the pump accessory Relax-A-Valve (F) in the
automatic position, loosen the locknut (HI, turn the
T-handle (J) clockwise as far as possible, and then back
off the handle four turns and tighten the nut. See Fig 6.

1 .
Close the Evenflo bypass valve (K) by turning the
v a l v e h a n d l e c l o c k w i s e .
2. Turn both air regulator handles clockwise to the
f r e e p o s i t i o n .
3 .
Disconnect the gun air atomizing hose (104f) from
the left air regulator union W4b).
4. Open the pump Relax-A-Valve handle (J) fully
counterclockwise. See Fig 6.

6. Turn the left regulator handle clockwise until air
bleeds slightly through the open union (104b).
7. Turn the right regulator handle clockwise to start
t h e p u m p . I n c r e a s e t h e a i r p r e s s u r e u n t i l t h e p u m p
circulates fluid through the Relax-A-Valve return
(drain back) tube at the desired rate.

After sufficient mixing, turn both regulator handles
c o u n t e r c l o c k w i s e t o t h e f r e e positon, c o n n e c t t h e a i r
atomizing hose (104f) to the left regulator, and set
the pump Relax-A-Valve in the automatic position.
Pum Operation
Fluid can be mixed by circulating it before
spraying. See Mixing By Circulation.
1 .
Engage the gun trigger safety. Remove the gun air
c a p ; t h i s p r e v e n t s f l u i d f r o m b e i n g f o r c e d b a c k i n t o
gun's air passages.
2. Turn the Evenflo bypass valve (K) fully in
(clockwise) to close it.
3 .
Set both regulators in the free position by turning
t h e h a n d l e s f u l l y c o u n t e r c l o c k w i s e .
4. Set the Relax-A-Valve, if used, in the automatic
p o s i t i o n .
5 .

b o d y ) , a n d o p e n t h e b l e e d - t y p e m a s t e r a i r v a l v e (A).
6 .
Set the atomizing air pressure to the gun at 40 psi
(2.8 bar) by turning the left regulator handle
clockwise.

safety and trigger the gun. Set the right air regulator
to 30 psi (2.1 bar). The pump will operate, filling the
h o s e a n d g u n .
8. Adjust the right regulator to the lowest pressure
necessary for the desired delivery rate; this varies
according to the fluid being pumped and other
s y s t e m c h a r a c t e r i s t i c s .
9 .
R e l e a s e t h e g u n t r i g g e r , e n g a g e t h e t r i g g e r s a f e t y ,
and install the air cap.
10. Release the trigger safety and trigger the gun. Ad-
just the left regulator untii the fluid is properly
atomized. To minimize overspray, use the lowest
pressure necessary f o r g o o d a t o m i z a t i o n .
