    Once the manual has been read, store it in the base of the Viaggio Flex 120 to ensure that anyone else using the seat will be able to access it for help.

    SAFE PRACTICES • Everyone buckles up, including adults in the back seat. Make no exceptions. If someone unbuckles, stop the vehicle. Be firm and consistent from the start so children know the rules. An unrestrained person increases the risk of death for everyone else as they can fly into and injure other passengers.
  • Page 5 SAFE PRACTICES • DO NOT give children lollipops or ice cream on a stick while in the car. These sticks can injure a child if the car hits a bump or swerves. • Do not leave the booster seat under direct sunlight for a prolonged time.

    INFORMATION • Certification: This booster seat meets or exceeds all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213 requirements for use in motor vehicles. This will make the use of seatbelts safer as bulky jackets can negatively affect the snugness of the belts in a crash. • When not in use, store the product in a proper place, away from light, moisture, excessive heat or cold.

    REGISTRATION AND RECALL Important! Child restraints could be recalled for safety reasons. You must register this restraint to be reached in a recall. Send your name, address and the restraint's model number and date of manufacture to: Peg Perego U.S.A., Inc.

    A booster seat is a seat the child sits on and uses the vehicle's seat belt as their restraint. This Viaggio Flex 120 is a booster seat. Booster seats are for kids who are too big for their car seat and too small to fit properly in a seat belt.
  • Page 12 WHEN IS A CHILD READY TO TRANSITION TO A BOOSTER SEAT? Slouching is dangerous as it puts the lap belt on the soft belly which injures the abdominal organs and spinal cord. Boosters also have design features that help the lap belt start and stay on the lap during a crash.

Many parents can be unsure about which seat to use. If you use their forward-facing car seat, make sure you always use the tether strap on that forward-facing car seat.

    WITH THIS BOOSTER SEAT? This booster seat must be used ONLY with a lap/ shoulder belt. Viaggio Flex 120 is a booster seat equipped with rigid latch*. Although the rigid latch is used for added stability only, its use is recommended.

    VEHICLES AND VEHICLE SEATS - WHICH ONES ARE SAFE TO USE WITH THIS BOOSTER SEAT? Important! Do not use this booster seat when there is only a lap belt. Using just a lap belt puts your child at increased risk of injury because lap belts don’t hold the child’s head and chest in a crash.

It is not designed to be used on three-wheel vehicles or motor bikes. According to crash statistics, children are safer when properly restrained in the back seat than in the front seat.

    LATCH - WHAT IS IT AND WHERE IS IT IN THE VEHICLE? LATCH stands for Lower Anchors and Tethers for children. LATCH works by connecting parts of your child’s car seat or booster seat to special anchors in the vehicle. Vehicle LATCH hardware: Lower Anchors: These are a pair of metal bars hidden in the vehicle's seat crease.

The tether strap secures the top of the child's car seat to the vehicle’s tether anchor. The tether strap keeps the brain and spine safer for a child riding in a forward-facing car seat.

    Opening the product before use 1. Raise the booster seat backrest until it clicks; the product should remain click upright on its own. The backrest oscillates by a few degrees to better fit the different types of vehicle seats.

  • Page 25 Product features 2. The width of the backrest may be adjusted in three 1 2 3 positions (closed, mid, opened). Push the button on the side of the knob (1) then rotate the knob clockwise to open the wings (2). This operation is required as your child grows.

To recline the seat, squeeze the handle (fig_a) on the front and simultaneously recline the product (fig_b). 5.     Installing the booster seat in the vehicle How to attach the booster seat on vehicle seats equipped with latch anchors. If your car is not fitted with latch positions, go to the next section. For further information on the availability of the anchors and their location, refer to the vehicle's instruction manual.

    Cleaning and maintenance Your booster seat requires a minimum of cleaning and maintenance. Do not clean with harsh products or solvents. Keep moving parts clean. In case, clean plastic parts with a damp cloth. Do not use water with harness and latching mechanisms. Protect the booster seat from extreme cold, water, rain and sun exposure.
