MIDI Implementation
The MIDI interface on your Kawai Heritage Series Digital Piano allows you to:
1. Receive and transmit keyboard data.
You can play the piano to output sound on a synthesizer or other instrument or
vice versa.
2. Set channel numbers for sending and receiving.
You can set send or receive channels to any number from 1 to 16.
3. Receive and transmit program numbers (codes for changing timbres).
You can operate the piano to change the programmed timbre of a synthesizer or
other instrument connected with the MIDI interface to the piano, or vice versa.
4. Receive and transmit pedal data.
You can receive and transmit ON/OFF data for the soft and damper pedals.
5. Receive volume data.
You can control the volume of the piano from an external source connected via
the MIDI interface.
6. Set MULT! TIMBRE.
When the piano is used as a receiving instrument, you can receive keyboard
data on a number of different channels, producing different timbres for each.
7. Sending and receiving Exclusive Data.
Sending in the programming mode or panel buttons operations, such as
DUAL,
or CHORUS buttons ON/OFF, can be sent as MIDI exclusive data.
