Installing on a Mac OS X Tiger/Leopard/Snow Leopard

The following topic provides directions on installing the drive for the first time.
Note: If you have reformatted the drive for use on Windows, see "Installing on
Windows XP" on page 46 or "Troubleshooting" on page 52.
After you physically connect the drive as shown in Figure 3 on page 6, the
WD SmartWare virtual CD mounts on the desktop and is listed under Devices in Finder.
Note: WD SmartWare software is provided in the form of a virtual CD (VCD) drive
on your My Book drive. The VCD displays on your desktop and behaves just like
a physical CD. To view the contents of the VCD, such as the documentation and
some extra programs, right-click and select Open.
The My Book icon also displays on the desktop.

Double-click the WD SmartWare virtual CD, and then double-click the
WD SmartWare icon on the screen that displays.
