Usablecassette tapes
You can use mini DV format cassettes only.
Use a cassette with the M_n_,r mark.
Your camcorder is not compatible with
cassettes with Cassette Memory.
To prevent a blank section from being
created on the tape
Go to tile end of tile recorded section using
END SEARCH (p. 30) before you begin the
next recording in tile lk_llowiug cases:
• You have played back lhe lape.
• You have used EDIT SEARCH.

N When you play back
If tile cassette yon play back ou _our
camcorder contains copyright signals, you
cannot copy it to a tape in another video
cantata commcted to your camcorder.
N When you record
You cannot record sol-I'_are on yore_
camcorder that contains copyright control
signNs lk_rcopyright protection of software.
[Cannot record due to copyright
protection.] appears on tile LCD screen, or
on the viewfinder if you try to record such
software. Your cmucordur does not record
copyright control signNs on the tape when
it records.
Notes on use
N When not using your camcorderfor a
long time
Reulove tile cassette and store it.
N To prevent accidental erasure
Slide tile "_rite-protect tab on tile cassette to
set it to SAVE.
REC: The cassette can be
recorded.
SAVE: Thecassette cannot be
recorded (write-protected).
N When labeling the cassette
Be sure to place the label only on the
locations shown in tile following
illustration so as not to cause a malfunction
of your camcorder.

Labeling position
N After using the cassette
Rewind tile tape to tile beginning to avoid
distortion of the picture or the sound. The
cassette should then be put in its case, and
stored in an upright position.
N When cleaning the gold-plated
connector
(-;enemll?, cle:m tile gold-plated couuector
on a cassette with a cotton-wool swab after
every 10 times it has been ejected.
If the gold-plated connector on the cassette
is dirty or dusty, tile remaining tape
indicator may not show correctly.
