Troubleshooting
If you run into any problenas using your camcorder, use the following table to troubleshoot tlae
problem. If tile problem persists, disconnect lhe power source and contacl your Sony dealer.
The power does not turn on.
• Altach a charged battery pack to Ihc camcorder p. 12).
• Use the AC Adaptor Io connect Io a wall outlet (p. 12).
The camcorder does not operate even when the power is set to on.
• Disconnect the AC Ad_ptor l_om the _MI outlet or remove the batter? pack, then reconnect it
after about 1 minute.
• Press the RESET button (p. 27) using a sharp-pointed object. (lf you press the RESET button,
all settings are reset.)
Buttons do not work.
• During Easy Handycam opcnJtion, not all buttons arc lhnctional (p. 23).
YOU cannot turn Easy Handycam operation on or off.
• During recording or communicating _ith _mother device via USB c_Jblc, you c_mnot turn
Easy Handycam operation on or off.
Settings change during Easy Handycam operation.
• During Easy Handycalll opcrCaion, tile settings of the l?,nctions that _Jle not displa} ed on tile
screen return to their delimits. Previously made settings are restored when you cancel the
Easy Handycam operation (p. 22_ 41 ).
[DEMO MODE] does not start.
• You cannot view the demonstration together _ith NightShot plus (p. 26).
• l_ject the cassette from your camcorder (p. 20).
The camcorder gets warm.
• The camcorder may get warmer while you use it. This is not a malfunction.

The power abruptly turns off.
• When approxinmtcly
5 minutes have elapsed while you do not operate your camcorder, the
camcorder is automatically turned off (A.SHUT OFF). Change the setting of [A.SHUT OFF]
(p. 48), or turn on the power again (p. 15), or use the AC Adaptor.
• Charge the batter? pack (p. 12).
