Troubleshooting
In the unlikely event that your computer doesn't function correctly with the
measurement coprocessor installed, use the following procedure to isolate the
problem.
1. Turn off the computer and remove the measurement coprocessor. Inspect
the measurement coprocessor visually to make sure that it is correctly
configured and that its memory is properly installed. Correct any problems
and retest the system. If no problems are found, go on to step 2.
2. Replace the computer cover and turn on the computer with the
measurement coprocessor removed. If the computer now turns on and
functions normally, go on to step 3. However, if the problem persists, the
problem is with the computer itself, not the measurement coprocessor.
3. The measurement coprocessor is shipped with its primary address set to
250h (hexadecimal). Change the setting to 280h as described in "The
Hardware Configuration Switch" earlier in this chapter.
4. Install the measurement coprocessor and turn on the computer.
5. If the problem persists, turn off the computer, change the address to 330h,
and turn on the computer again.
Note
If none of the recommended addresses solve the problem, refer
to your measurement coprocessor software documentation for
further information.
If you still have problems, there may be something wrong with the
measurement coprocessor hardware. Follow the instructions in the booklet
Plug-in Accessories: Warranty and Customer Support (provided with the
measurement coprocessor).
