When the answer machine is switched on, the remaining mem-
ory time is announced. The
@
and the key on the base lights up.
The telephone is supplied with standard answer machine
greetings. These are used if you do not record a personal greet-
ing.
Note:
Delete messages you no longer need at regular intervals so
( p. 19) that you have enough space available for new mes-
sages.
You cannot start the playback function of the answer machine
during a call.
Managing greetings
Selecting greeting mode
You can select a greeting mode for the answer machine. There
are two different modes to choose from:
Answ.&record: The caller hears the selected greeting and is
able to then leave a message.
Announce only: The caller hears the greeting but cannot
leave a message.

The answer machine automatically switches to Announce only
mode when the memory is full.

Recording your own greetings
The telephone is supplied with standard answer machine
greetings for both modes. You can record your own personal
greeting for both modes.

Please note:
Recording ends automatically if the maximum recording
time of 170 seconds is reached or there is a pause in speech
that lasts for more than 8 seconds.
Recording stops when the memory is full. Delete old mes-
sages to free up space.
If the recording time is shorter than 2 seconds, the greeting
cannot be saved.
Listening to greetings

Select the greeting that you wish to hear:
Play announce or Play anc only

The greeting is played back. If you have not recorded a personal
greeting, the default greeting is played.
Deleting greetings
Note:
Standard greetings cannot be deleted.
