Manual mode allows you specify the settings used to take a photograph and to
view the shot you have taken on the LCD monitor before you decide whether to
record the shot on the SmartMedia.
The settings specified in Manual mode are retained even after you switch the
camera off.
Note
- The white balance, brightness (exposure compensation), flash correction, AE
and external flash synchronization settings specified in Manual mode are only
valid in Manual mode. If you switch the camera off, all the settings are retained
for Manual mode.
- If you replace the battery with the camera switched on or disconnect the AC
adapter, the settings may revert to their default values. For this reason and
because it could cause camera malfunctions, you should always switch the
camera off before you replace the battery or disconnect the AC adapter.
+ Each time you press the {DISP} button, LCD monitor operation changes in the
following sequence:
Live image + on-screen

Set the Mode dial to [ @ ].
If the menu screen is no longer shown on
the LCD monitor, press the <DISP) button.
+ If the LCD monitor is difficult to see, you can adjust the LCD monitor
brightness. (=»P.34)
+ Adjusting the LCD monitor brightness does not affect the brightness of
the recorded image.
