You do not
know
if the OS of your computer
is compatible
with the camera.
• Check "Rec()mmended
computer
environment"
on page 76 for Windows_ and page 87 for
Macintosh.
You cannot install the USB driver.
• In Windows 2000, log on as Administrator (authorized Administrators) (page 77).
Nothing
appears on the camera screen when a USB connection
is made.
• The switch on the cable for multi-use terminal is set to "TV'. Set to "CAMERA" (page 7q).
Your computer does not recognize your camera.
T/irn on the camera (_ .step 2 in "Read Tlli,_Fir,st").
• When the battery level is low, install the charged battery pack (_ szu_ 1 in "Read Thi.s
First"), or use the AC Adaptor (not supplied) (page 17).
• Use the supplied cable for multi-use terminal (page 79).
• Disconnect the cable for muhi-use terminal from both the computer and the camera, and
connect it agfin firmly. Make sure that "USB Mode Mass Storage" is displayed (page 79).
• Set [USB Connect] to [Mass Storage] in the _
(Setup) menu (page 72).
• Disconnect all equipment other than the camera, the keyboard and the mouse from the USB
connectors
of your
colilplltel_
• Connect the camera directly to your computer without passing through a USB hub or other
device (page 79).
• The USB driver is not installed. Install Ibe USB driver (page 77).
• Your computer does not properly recognize the device because you connected the camera and
your computer with the cable for multi-use terminal belbre you installed the "USB Driver"
from the supplied CD-ROM. Delete the erroneously recognized de; ice l_om your computer,
then install the USB driver (see the next item).
The "Removable
disk" icon does not appear on the computer screen when you
connect your computer to the camera.
• Follo_x the procedure below to install the USB driver again. Tbe follo_xing procedure is l_)ra
Windows computer.
I Right-click [My Computer] to display the menu, then click [Properties].
The "System Properties" screen appears.
2 Click [Hardware] _ [Device Manager].
• For Windows 98198SEIMe, click the [Device Manager] tab.
The "Device Manager" appears.
3 Right-click ['¢ Sony DSCI, then click [Uninsta111_ [OKI.
The device is deleted.
4 Install the USB driver (page 77).
