Speaker Setting
Here you can change the settings for the built-in decoder. These
changes will have no effect if you connect the unit to other equipment
through the digital audio output terminals. Make changes to the set-
tings on the equipment you have connected.
Common procedures
Press [ACTION] in the stop mode.
The initial settings screen is displayed.

Press the cursor buttons [A, ¥] to se-
lect "8 Speaker Setting" and press
[ENTER].

Press the cursor buttons [A, Vj to se-
lect the item and press [ENTER].

Multi-channel
If you have connected three or more speakers.
(Proceed to step 4.)

2-channel (Factory preset)
If you have connected 2 speakers. (You will return to the
menu shown in step 1. Settings are not necessary.)

Change settings to suit your speakers
and the listening position (= page 43).
e Setting the size and presence of your speakers
Choose "Yes" for speakers you have connected. Sound will
not be output if you choose "No".
e Delay time
Allows you to make up for differences in distance if you can-
not place your speakers in the optimum position.
eChannel balance
Allows you to adjust the output level of the speakers to make
up for differences in volume caused by different types of
speaker or distance.

The screen illustrated in step 2 is displayed. '
To cance! during setup operation
Press [RETURN]. (The previous screen is displayed.)
To exit the initial settings screen
Press [ACTION] or [RETURN].
