Vehicle safety controls
- Rear passenger's seat belt warning light will blink for approximately 70 seconds. (For
Center side)
僅 When the vehicle speed is over approximately 20 km/h (12 mph)
- Rear passenger's seat belt warning chime will sound for approximately 35 seconds
- Rear passenger's seat belt warning light will blink.
僅 When the vehicle is driven without the seat belt fastened, or the driver has unfastened
the seat belt when the vehicle speed is over approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) (For
Europe)
- Rear passenger's seat belt warning chime will sound for approximately 35 seconds
- Rear passenger's seat belt warning light will blink.
Non-operating condition(s)
僅 When the rear door is opened or closed, and the vehicle speed is under 10 km/h (6 mph)
- Seat belt warning light and the seat belt warning chime will not work even if the vehi-
cle speed is over approximately 20 km/h (12 mph).
WARNING
Riding in an improper position adversely affects the front seat belt warning system. It is
important for the driver to instruct the passenger to properly be seated as instructed in
this manual.
NOTE
僅 Although the front passenger seat is not occupied, the seat belt warning light will blink
or appear for 6 seconds.
僅 The front passenger's seat belt warning may operate when luggage is placed.
Pre-active Seat belt (PSB) (if equipped)
The purpose of the pre-active seat belt is to prevent passengers from getting hurt by
tightening the seat belt right before a collision or dangerous maneuver.
CAUTION
The pre-active seat belt activates only when the passenger is wearing his/her seat belt.

The pre-active seat belt warning will turn on if there is a problem with your pre-active seat
belt.
In this case, have the system replaced by a professional workshop. Kia recommends to
consult an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
The warning message comes on while the vehicle is in motion. if the PSB warning mes-
sage disappeared, the warning indicator (master symbol) turns on.
In order to maximize the safety of the passenger, the pre-active seat belt system operates
