Troubleshooting chart

There is fuel
1. Fuel
Check if there is
fuel in the fuel Some fuel
tank
No fuel
2. Compression
Kick the kick starter
to see if there is
compression
3. Ignition
Wet
Remove plugs and
check electrodes
Dry
Remove the
fuel pipe
Turn the fuel
cock to "OFF"
Turn the fuel
cock to "RES"
Supply fuel
There is compresson
No compression
Wipe clean with
dry cloth
Attach plug cap and
ground to chassis
Check fuel flow
Restart engine
Compression normal
Ask a Yamaha dealer to inspect
Kick the kick
starter strongly
Ask a Yamaha dealer to inspect

No fuel Fuel cock clogged
Clean fuel cock
Spark good Ignition system normal
Spark weak
Adjust plug gap or
No spark
replace plug(s)
