Troubleshooting

Problem
There is abnormal vibration.
The cutting height is uneven.
The blades do not rotate.
The machine does not operate normally
and displays a fault on the InfoCenter.
Battery-Charger Error Codes
The battery-charger error codes display on the machine InfoCenter as shown in
SPN: Suspect Parameter Number
FMI: Failure Mode Indicator
OC: Number of occurences
Problem
SPN 4992, FMI 16 or FMI 3
SPN 4990, FMI 31
SPN 520196, FMI 16
Possible Cause
1. Cutting blade(s) is/are bent or
unbalanced.
2. A blade-mounting bolt is loose.
3. A blade spindle is bent.
1. Blade(s) are not sharp.
2. Cutting blade(s) is/are bent.
3. The mower deck is not level.
4. The mower deck pitch is wrong.
5. The underside of mower deck is dirty.
6. The tire pressure is not correct.
7. A blade spindle is bent.
1. The safety-interlock system prevents
blade rotation.
2. The PTO switch is malfunctioning.
1. A machine fault is preventing operation.

Corrective Action
1. Install new cutting blade(s).
2. Tighten the blade-mounting bolt.
3. Contact an Authorized Service Dealer.
1. Sharpen the blade(s).
2. Install new cutting blade(s).
3. Level the mower deck side-to-side
position.
4. Adjust the front-to-rear pitch.
5. Clean the underside of the mower
deck.
6. Adjust the tire pressure.
7. Contact an Authorized Service Dealer.

1. Turn the key to the O

and start the machine again. If the
fault reoccurs, contact an Authorized
Service Dealer.

Corrective Action
1. Ensure that the battery voltage is
correct and the cable connections are
secure; ensure that the battery is in
good condition.
1. Contact an authorized Toro distributor.
1. Possible causes include poor battery
health, very deeply discharged battery,
poorly connected battery, and/or
high parasitic loads on battery while
charging. Possible solutions: Replace
batteries. Check DC connections.
Disconnect parasitic loads. This error
will clear once the charger is reset by
cycling DC.
