    Site Preparation This document provides the information necessary to prepare a site to NCR specifications before installing an NCR TouchPort 120 Kiosk (2368). The site must be properly prepared before the kiosk is installed because site preparation deficiencies may be difficult to detect and correct after installation.

    Site Preparation Product Labels The illustration shows the typical layout of an NCR TouchPort 120 (2368) Kiosk product identification label that is fixed inside the kiosk. The product is identified by a 12-digit model number. The serial number is unique to each kiosk. The tracer number is used to identify where the kiosk was built.

    Third Party Peripheral Certification Third party peripherals must be certified with the NCR TouchPort 120 (2368) Kiosk or a potential ESD issue can occur. Third party peripherals include any electrically powered devices connected to the kiosk that are not an NCR branded product or a certified solution advocated by NCR.

    1-18 Site Preparation Service Clearance Provide sufficient clearance in front and at both sides of the unit for servicing, installation, and operation tasks. Limited clearance may increase the servicing and/or upgrading time of the kiosk.

    Site Preparation 1-19 Airflow Requirements Do not block the air vents on the kiosk. These vents are necessary for cooling. Place the kiosk in an area where sufficient ventilation is available. Leave at least 100 mm (4 inches) of clearance on the rear of the unit for airflow.

  • Page 30 Improvement of any deficiencies in power quality is a customer responsibility. Malfunction and/or component failure as a result of power quality problems are/is not covered by the NCR Maintenance Agreement. NCR accepts no liability for any such occurrence or for its consequences.
  • Page 31 • Be installed in accordance with all applicable local, state, and national electrical codes and regulation. Note: NCR provides a full line of both AC power and data line transient surge suppressors to protect your NCR TouchPort unit and reduce downtime and extend the life of the NCR TouchPort travel solution.
