Give
the
jack plugs
a
quarter
turn
when
inserting
into the
receptacle.
To
remove
the
jack plugs, give
a
quarter
turn
in
the
opposite
direction while
withdrawing.
For dc
reverse
polarity
output,
connect
the electrode
ca
ble
to the
POSITIVE
receptacle
and the work cable
to
the NEGATIVE
receptacle.
Fordc
straight polarity,
con
nect the
electrode cable
to the
NEGATIVE
receptacle
and the work cable
to
the POSITIVE
receptacle.

MAINTENANCE & TROUBLESHOOTING
IMPORTANT:
Every
six months
inspect
the labels
on
this unit for
legibility.
All
labels
must
be maintained in
a
clearly
readable state and
replaced
when
necessary.
See
the Parts List for
part
number of labels.

FAN
MOTOR
This unit is
equipped
with
an
exhaust fan and relies
on
forced draft for
adequate cooling.
The fan
motor
is
manufactured with lifetime sealed
bearings
and
re
quires
no
maintenance.

INTERNAL CLEANING

Do
not
touch live electrical
parts.
Shut down
welding
power
source
and discon
nect
input
power
employing lockout/tagging
procedures
before
inspecting, maintaining,
or
servicing.
Lockoutltagging procedures
Consist of
pad
locking
line disconnect switch in open
position,
removing
fuses from fuse
box,
or
shutting
off
and
red-tagging
circuit breaker
or
other disco
n
necting
device.
HOT SURFACES
can cause severe
burns.
Allow
cooling period
before
servicing.
Every
six months blow
out
or vacuum
dust and dirt
from
around the internal
components.
Remove the
wrapper
TO
from the
unit,
and
use a
clean,
dry
airstream
or vacuum
suction for the
cleaning operation.
If
dirty
or
dusty
condi
tions
are
present,
clean the unit
monthly.

OVERLOAD PROTECTION

consist of

IMPROPER FUSES
can
damage
unit.
Be
sure
replacement
fuse is
same
size,
type,
and
rating (see
Parts
List).
The rectifier
Ri
is
protected
from
overload
by
a
fuse
Fl.
The fuse
Fl
opens
if
rating
or
duty cycle
is
exceeded,
interrupting
weld
output.
To
replace
Fl,
proceed
as
follows:
1.
Remove unit
wrapper.
2.
Check
Fl,
and
replace
if
necessary.
3.
Reinstall unit
wrapper.
