DATA ENTRY KEYS
To enter a number in scientific notation, first enter the mantissa, pressing
i ♦/-1 <• It is negative Press EE and "00" appears at the right of the
display Then enter the exponent, pressing +/- if it is negative
If you press a wrong digit key when entering the exponent, press the correct
digits and the calculator replaces the old digits w«h the last digits entered
Example : Suppose you Wanted to enter 6 023 x to*5 but accidentally
press the exponent digits In the revorse order

corrects the error
Regardless of how a mantissa is entered in scientific notation . the
calculator normalizes the number, displaying a single digit to the ten of the
decimal point, when any function or operation key is pressed
After pressing the [Hi key, all results are displayed in scientific notation
To remove the scientific notation format or convert a number to standard
form, press INV EE
Example : Entor 32*5 x 104 in scientific notation and change It to standard
notation

Engineering Notation Key
The 2nd [Eng) key sequence converts the display format to engineering
notation, which is identical to scientific notation except that the exponent is
always a multiple ol three
Engineering notation Is usetul for science and engineenng calculations that
use the metric system of measurements, in which the most commonly used
units have exponents that are multiples ol three
