You can use the HITS function in the three following situations.

(4) When inputting frequency numbers for DIRECT ACCESS TUNING:
® If the HITS switch is pressed during input of numbers for DIRECT
ACCESS tuning, the receiver sets the remaining digits which have
not yet been input to ''0'', searches for the corresponding frequencies,
and stops on the first station it finds.
(2) During frequency display:
¢ If the HITS switch is pressed at the currently displayed station
frequency, the receiver searches up and down the frequency for the
next station (The SEARCH indicator in the display section lights at
this time.) and stops at the first one it finds.

(3) When inputting a station name:
If the HITS switch is pressed during station call-letter input and the
receiver performs a memory search for other stations in the STATION
CALL memory which begin with the same letter(s) (one to four
characters) as those you have input (starting from the left). (Each is
tuned in for approximately 5 seconds. Press the HITS switch to cancel.)
AM BROADCAST BEAT

You can use this only during AM broadcast reception.
To reduce beat interference, this uses DSP to filter part of the AM audio
signal frequency range. 3

1. Tune into an AM station.
2. Press the AM B.R. switch, and the indicator ights.
© Tone/Level/balance meter display sections aiovi AM B.R. indications.
3. Using the JOG dial, adjust until beat interference is minimal.
