This function, the "SSM"
(Sound Status Memory), allows presetting of "Bass"
and "Treble" sound tone levels, which are available when selecting "5.
User
Position" by using the Tone select button ()).
Important:
e@ Sound tone presetting is only possible for "5. User Position".
e 1. Soft", "2. Clear", "3. Heavy" and "4. Vocal" sound tone settings cannot be

e SSM operation has no effect on balance setting between speakers.
@ The selected sound tone (by selecting a sound tone 1 to 5 using the Tone select
button ( J} ), or by adjusting bass or treble directly) always will be restored to
the level that has been previously set, even if a different channel is tuned to, an
input mode is switched, or TV power is turned off and on again.
Therefore, in
order to re-adjust the sound tone, first press Tone select ( J) ), then press 1 to 5
to select a different sound tone, or re-adjust bass or treble directly.
Setting the sound tone:
1. Press the MENU button ( (i) to call up Page-1 Menu.

Select "Bass" or "Treble" with the Control ( 4 / wv) buttons of the Menu
Control section. The selection turns magenta colour.

Press the Control (-/+) buttons of the Menu Control section to adjust the
level. The marker moves.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 to complete tone adjustment.

Press "1".
The "User Position" indication blinks once.
The on-screen indication disappears in about 3 seconds to indicate setting is

A VSM
(Video Status Memory)
setting can be made for each individual
source
selection (TV or external video input modes EXT 1, EXT 2 and EXT 3).
After setting of the VSM, the "Colour", "Bright", "Cont." and "Sharp"can
be
adjusted as usual.
However, when an input mode is switched or TV Power is
turned off and on again, their settings will be restored to the VSM setting s that

e For the TELETEXT and MIX modes, the VSM function has no effect.
@ Even if the on-screen background is set to ON with "4. Message Style' of the
"6. Set-Up Menu" feature, no background appears behind the on-screirm
