TO PERFORM
RECORDING
WITH A TAPE DECK
TAPE RECORDING
Youcan record an FM or AM
broadcast, or a sound source
connected to the PHONO, CD, VDP/VIDEO, VCR 2 or VCR
1 (VCR) jacks.
USING THE BUILT-IN TIMER
Turn on the POWER
switch of the
unit.
Select the sound source to be re-
corded.
Turn on (or start) the sound source to
be recorded.
Operate the tape deck connected to
the TAPE jacks.

For details of operating the tape deck, read the oper-
ating instructions of the tape deck.
Tape monitoring (VSX-3000 only)
If a recording is being made on a 3-head tape deck, the
recorded
sound
can
be monitored
through
the speaker
systems if the TAPE switch is pressed, depending on which
TAPE jacks the tape deck is connected to. In this case, both
recording and playback connections must be made.

NOTE;
/f you have a 2-head open-reel deck or cassette deck, you will not
be able to monitor the recorded sound even if you press the TAPE
switch. However, you will be able to hear the program source
sound.
Insert
the
power
plug
of
the
tape
deck
into
the
"SWITCHED" AC output.
You can
perform
''wake-up"
playback
or "unattended"
recording using the tape deck. The timer can switch the
system ON and OFF once in 24 hours.

1 Turn on the POWER
switch of the
unit.
@ When the unit is switched OFF, only the timer can be
set.
2 Set the ON and OFF times of the timer
switch.

3 Select the program source to be
played.
Broadcast receiving:
Press the TUNER switch of the
audio/video function switches, and select the broadcast
which you wish to receive when the timer goes ON.
® For details of receiving a broadcast, refer to pages 18
and 19.
Tape playback:
Press the TAPE switch of the audio/
video
function
switches
to advance
the tape in the
tape deck to the beginning of the portion to be played
back.
4 Set the volume and tone at which
you
wish the tape to be played when the
timer goes ON.
Press the TIMER
ON/OFF
switch.

receiver will be switched
off, and
the TIMER
indicator will light.

When the TIMER indicator is lit, the timer is operating.
"Unattended"
recording using a tape
deck
, 1 Turn on the POWER
switch
of the
unit.

When the unit is switched OFF, only the timer can be
