Using a Memory Card
Mi inserting a Memory Card
Before inserting a Memory Card, be sure to turn the Palmcorder off.

Slide the [OPEN] Lever to the right and open the Card Slot
Cover.

While holding the Memory Card with its cut corner facing
right, insert it into the Card Slot.
3 Close the Card Slot Cover.
BE[ACCESS] Lamp
While the Palmcorder is accessing the Card (reading, recording, playback,
erasing, moving of images), the [ACCESS] Lamp @ lights up.
e While the [ACCESS] Lamp is on, never attempt to open the Card
Compartment, to pull out the Card, to turn off the Palmcorder power, or to
switch the [TAPE/CARD] Selector. Such actions will damage the Card and
cause the Palmcorder to malfunction.

Recording on the Memory Card
Still pictures can be recorded on a Card from the Palmcorder lens as well as
from scenes that have already been recorded on a cassette.
The size of images that are recorded using this Palmcorder is approximately
1,680,000 pixels, and recording of images with a size that is larger than a
million pixels is called mega-pixel still-picture recording. Compared to images
of normal recording, images that are created by mega-pixel still-picture
recording can be printed out clearer.
Card Photoshot
Recording a picture through the Palmcorder lens
(CAMERA Mode)

Slide the [TAPE/CARD] Selector to [CARD].

Set [PICTURE SIZE] in [CARD SETUP] Sub-Menu to
[1488X1128] or [640X 480).
e If you select [1488X 1128], you can take pictures with higher resolution.
(Mega-Pixel Recording)

Press the [PHOTO SHOT] Button.

During Card Photoshot recording, the following functions are
disabled.
e Digital zooming (+ 22)
e Digital Effect Functions (-> 26, 27)
è Title In/Creation {+ 37)
e Frame Mode (3 21)
e The palmcorder is automatically turned off when you leave it for about 5
minutes without performing any photoshot recording.
e When recording dark scenes, set [LOW LIGHT SHOT] on the [CARD
SETUP] to [AUTO] and then record. {> 53)
Recording from a cassette (VCR Mode)
1 Slide the [TAPE/CARD] Selector to [CARD].
2 Start playback and press the [PHOTO SHOT] Button at the
scene you want to record.
e The size of the images input externally or recorded from a tape to the
card becomes [640X 480].
e While the image is being recorded, it stays still for a few seconds.
e Please refer to "Recording to a Card from other equipment" (+ 53),
regarding the recording to a card from other equipment.
Selecting the quality of Card Photoshot images
1 Set [CAMERA FUNCTIONS] or [VCR FUNCTIONS] >> [CARD
SETUP] >> [REC MODE] >> a desired image quality (FINE,
NORMAL, ECONOMY).
e Please refer to page 58, conserning the Maximum Number of pictures that
can be recorded on the supplied SD Memory Card.
