Power supply unit

This section provides instructions for removing and installing a PSU in an enclosure.
The PowerVault MD2460 enclosure supports two redundant PSUs. If a PSU fails, the enclosure will run on a single PSU until the
redundancy is restored. You can replace one PSU without powering off the enclosure.
CAUTION:
When a PSU is removed from an enclosure, it must be replaced within three minutes to prevent the
enclosure from overheating.
You might need to replace a PSU when:
● The PSU fault LED starts blinking amber. See
● Events in the system manager indicate a problem with the PSU.
● Troubleshooting indicates a problem with the PSU.

Remove the faulty PSU
Perform the following steps to remove the faulty PSU from an enclosure:
Steps
1. If the enclosure is installed with CMAs, release the upper CMA from its locked position. From the left side of the rear of the
enclosure, press the release button and swing open the upper CMA.
2. Remove the strap that secures the power cable and disconnect the power cable from the faulty PSU.
