2.6 Connectors and Headers
Power Connectors
Two power supply units (PSU1/PSU2) provide main power to Supermicro (1U) systems.
The Power Distributor Board (PDB), located on the power sideband board header (JPDB1),
provides main system power to Nvidia proprietary systems when the PDB is connected to the
Main Power In (+12V) and the Main Power Out (GND). An 8-pin Standard Power connector
(JPWR1) is used to provide power to onboard devices. In addition, two 2-pin +12V power
connectors (JPWR2/JPWR3) are used for peripheral devices. (JPWR2 is used as an auxiliary
power connector, while JPWR3 is used as a +12V standby power connector.) All these power
connectors meet the ATX SSI EPS 12V specification and must be connected to your power
supply to provide adequate power to your system. See the drawing below for the locations
of the power connectors.
Important: To provide adequate power to your system, be sure to connect Power
Supply Unit1/Unit2 to your power outlet to provide adequate power to Supermicro (1U)
systems. Connect the power sideband distributor board to the +12V CST pin and the
GND (Ground) CST pin to provide power to Nvidia proprietary systems. Please also be
sure to connect the standard 8-pin power connector (JPWR1) and the 2-pin auxiliary
power connectors (JPWR2/JPWR3) to appropriate power supplies to provide adequate
power to your system. Failure to do so may void the manufacturer warranty on your
power supply and your motherboard.
