Recommendation
We recommend you use Disk Manager to evaluate your BIOS
and to determine whether your system needs additional BIOS
support. If your BIOS needs support for drives with capacities
greater than 8.4 Gbytes, instructions will be provided. For more
information, see "Installation using Disk Manager" on page 15.
Ultra ATA 66 Requirements
This drive can support transfer rates up to 66 Mbytes per second
using Ultra DMA modes 3 and 4. The drive is configured at the
factory for Ultra ATA 33.
To enable Ultra ATA 66 you must have the following:

Windows 98
•
A computer and BIOS that supports UDMA modes 3 and 4.
•
A 40-pin 80 conductor cable. For more information see page 6.
•
A software utility to activate Ultra ATA 66. Seagate provides a
utility called UATA66.exe. If you did not receive this utility, you
can download it from our Web site at www.seagate.com.
