Connecting your Surround Sound Speakers:
Referencing figures 4 & 5 below, the surrounds are passive speakers positioned typical just behind where the
person sits to the left and right sides.
Connections to the left and right channel surrounds are made via the input terminal cups. Connections can
be made using either a banana style of plug or simply unscrewing the metal hex nut connector and placing
the wire into the hole in the shaft then retighten the connection. Connect the other end of the speaker wire
to your receiver / amplifier "SURROUND" LEFT AND RIGHT channel output connections, please see Figure 4,
example shown below.
Note: Before attempting to connect speaker cables to your receiver or amplifier, it is also advised that you
decrease the volume of the device down to the lowest setting that you intend to use to power your speakers
and then turn the device off. Make sure to connect the (-) speaker terminal on each speaker to the (-)
receiver or amplifier terminal that will serve as your sound source.
Use only a high-quality grade of speaker wires when connecting the surround speakers to your receiver /
amplifier.
An improper surround speaker connection (reverse polarity) could cause the speakers to be out of phase,
which would degrade the overall sound, but will not harm the speaker or receiver/amplifier.
