  • Page 8: Preventing Problems

    The tumble dryer may only be operated with a peak- load device if this is connected to the tumble dryer via the Miele connector box and the relevant settings have been configured on the tumble dryer. There is a risk of the laundry self-igniting if the drying programme is cancelled before the cooling phase has finished.
  • Page 9: Technical Safety

     Unauthorised repairs could result in unforeseen dangers for the user, for which Miele cannot accept liability. Repairs must only be carried out by a Miele authorised service technician, otherwise any subsequent damage will not be covered by the warranty.

    Operating the tumble dryer Sensors and touch display with sensors The sensors ,  and Start/Stop and the sensors in the display respond to fingertip contact. Every touch of the sensors is confirmed by a keypad tone. You can adjust the volume of the keypad tone or switch it off (see “Supervisor level”).

    Operating the tumble dryer To scroll through the menu, place your finger on the touch display and move it left or  right. The orange scroll bar in the bottom display area shows that there are further options to choose from. To select the required drying programme, touch the programme name with your finger.

If in doubt, wash the items several times. New, coloured items should be washed thoroughly and separately. Do not dry these garments together with light coloured garments.

    Drying programmes can therefore vary or “jump”. The tumble dryer’s electronic module adapts during the ongoing drying programme. The displayed programme running time becomes more and more accurate. When using the programmes for the first time, the displayed time sometimes deviates significantly from the real time left. The difference between the estimated and achieved time becomes smaller if the corresponding programme is run more often.

    Cleaning and care Cleaning the fluff filter  Risk of fire if the tumble dryer is operated without a fluff filter. If there is no fluff filter, the air channels, heating elements and ducting can become clogged during drying and may catch fire. The fluff filter must not be removed for cleaning.

    Clean the louvres using a brush or vacuum cleaner.  Then re-cover the air intake vent.  Miele Professional Service must check the interior of the tumble dryer and the impellers in the ventilation openings for fluff deposits once per year and clean the machine if necessary.

    Cleaning and care Heat exchanger While the heat pump is running, fluff, detergent residue and other components contained in the steam collect in the heat exchangers. Soiling of the heat exchangers reduces heat transfer to the air and minimises the efficiency of the system. The heat exchangers must therefore be checked and cleaned at regular intervals.

  • Page 37 Useful tip: Use a spirit level to ensure correct alignment. In Australia and New Zealand, all PDR 922 HP machines are installed on a mobile plinth with lockable castors. This mobile plinth assists during maintenance and repair work by Miele technicians. The height of the machine is 1500 mm with castors fitted.

    If more than one voltage is specified on the data plate, the tumble dryer can be converted for connection to the relevant input voltage. This conversion must be performed by the Miele Professional Service Department or by an authorised technician. During the conversion, the wiring instructions given on the wiring diagram must be followed.
