PROBLEMS
(SYMPTOMS)
Previous weld pass data is not accessible
on the LASER screen.
The user is not sure of which tolerance set
they are using.
The welding device(s) location does not
correspond with the image shown in the
headset.
The VRTEX does not start up when the
power button is pressed.
Welding device does not appear in the joint
properly.
No sound.
If for any reason you do not understand the test procedures or are unable to perform the tests/repairs safely, contact the Lincoln
Electric Automation Department for technical troubleshooting assistance before you proceed. Call 1-888-935-3878.
POSSIBLE AREAS OF
MISADJUSTMENT(S)
"End Pass" must be activated before
starting a new pass. If a new coupon is
started the data will only be available for
the first pass. Again; "End Pass" must be
selected before a new pass is started.
The current tolerance is listed at the top of
the screen in the Intructor Mode.
The system may be located near large
metal objects.
Make sure the correct input power is being
applied to the machine.
Verify fused power switch is in the ON
position.
Fuse may be faulty.
Circuit breaker may be tripped.
Wrong toolset reference number plugged
into machine.
Volume turned down in software.

COURSE OF ACTION
Use the touch screen to go to pass number
and change which pass data you are
looking for. Note that some configurations
only have one pass capabilities. See the
Lincoln default tolerances.
Go to the instructor mode to change
tolerances. Go to the login screen, select
the key icon, enter pass code and select
tolerances to verify tolerance set.
See the Operation section.
Move the system to a suitable location. See
the Installation section.
Replace with 10A/250V fuse only.
Reset and tripped circuit breaker.
Match toolset reference number on device
to number on front of machine.
Also ensure coupon arm is the correct
toolset number.
To increase the volume reference the
'Instructor Mode' and 'Options' section.
