Adjustments Procedure References
This section provides supplemental information for the adjustments which are performed by
the program. Connection instructions and some additional explanations are provided. Use this
chapter as a reference when you perform the adjustments.
The adjustments of the 4349B without Option 001 consist of the following four adjustments.

To identify if the 4349B is equipped with Option 001, check the label on the
Note
instrument rear panel. If the Option 001 is installed, a label
be attached on the rear panel.
DC Voltage Source (DC Power Supply or DCV Calibrator)
The following adjustments are divided into two procedures, \Using DC Power Supply" or \Using
DCV Calibrator", according to the type of the dc voltage source selected in the \Dening the
Conguration". Follow only the appropriate procedure.
The 4349B adjustment requires reference current to scale the internal
Note
current-voltage converter. To obtain the reference current, an external dc
voltage source with the standard resistor, 16340A, connected in series is
required. The adjustment program allows two types of dc voltage sources, a DC
Power Supply and a DCV Calibrator.
The DC Power Supply requires a multimeter to monitor the power supply
output voltage, because the voltage accuracy of the power supply is insucient
for the 4349B adjustments. On the other hand, the DCV Calibrator requires no
multimeter, because its accuracy is sucient.
Because the adjustment program doesn't control the DC Power Supply via the
Note
GPIB and allows manual operation, a power supply without GPIB capability
may be used if it satises the specication listed in Table 1-1.
