following the autopilot system.
Autopilot sources
A professional autopilot system has its own source groups. If the MFD is going to be used to
operate the professional autopilot system, the MFD must use the same source groups as the
autopilot system.
The MFD will detect a connected professional autopilot system, and a prompt will be
displayed asking if the MFD should enable professional autopilot compatibility.
Yes: the MFD restarts using the same source groups as the professional autopilot, and the
MFD can be used to operate the autopilot
No: the MFD remains with its own source groups. The MFD cannot be used to operate the
autopilot
If No is selected the question is not asked again. The setting can be changed by selecting
Professional autopilot compatibility in the Advanced settings dialog.

The controller for professional autopilot has additional buttons and fields available.

Command transfer
The AP70/80 system can be set up as a Master system or as an Open system. These options
control the command transfer between control units in the autopilot system. For details,
refer to the AP70/80 Operator manual.
The command transfer action and request depends on system setup and status of the
autopilot controller as illustrated below.
