Steps
1. Remove the single (M2x4) screw that secures the fingerprint reader metal bracket.
NOTE:
Systems with non-fingerprint reader configuration do not have a fingerprint reader bracket.
2. Remove the fingerprint metal bracket from the system and flip open the fingerprint sensor.
3. Remove the three (M2x5) screws securing the USB Type-C bracket.
4. Remove the USB Type-C bracket.
5. Peel the conductive tape covering the eDP cable.
6. Remove the (M2x4) screw that secures the display cable bracket to the system board to release the display cable.
7. Lift the latch and disconnect the eDP cable from its connector on the system board.
8. Disconnect the display cable from the connector on the system board.
9. Disconnect the speaker cable from the connector on the system board.
10. Disconnect the USH board cable from its connectors on the system board.
11. Disconnect the LED cable from its connectors on the system board.
12. Disconnect the touchpad cable from its connector on the system board.
13. Remove the two (M2x3) screws, two (M2x2.5) screws, and (M2x4) screw that secures the system board to the palm-rest
assembly.
14. Lift the system board off the palm-rest assembly.

Installing the system board

Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
NOTE:
When replacing/accessing other parts, the system board can be installed with the heat sink attached in order to
simplify the procedure and preserve the thermal bond between the system board and heat-sink.
