Remove, Activate and Charge
Battery
Parts needed for this procedure:

Electrolyte (not supplied)
Procedure
1. If the battery is not filled with electrolyte or activated,
bulk electrolyte with 1.260 specific gravity must be
purchased from a local battery supply outlet and
added to the battery.
DANGER
Battery electrolyte contains sulfuric acid which
is a deadly poison and causes severe burns.
• Do not drink electrolyte and avoid contact
with skin, eyes or clothing. Wear safety
glasses to shield your eyes and rubber gloves
to protect your hands.
• Fill the battery where clean water is always
available for flushing the skin.

Wash hands after handling.
2. Remove the strap securing the battery cover to the
battery box (Figure 3).

3. Remove the cover and lift the battery out of the
battery box.
4. Clean the top of the battery and remove the vent
caps (Figure 4).
5. Carefully fill each cell with electrolyte to the proper
level (Figure 4).
