ADJUSTMENTS
Once blade is 45° to the table:
 Check bevel indicator.
 If indicator is not pointing to the 45º mark on the bevel
scale, loosen the indicator adjusting screw and adjust
indicator.
 Retighten screws.
When all adjustments are complete:
 Reinstall blade guard and anti-kickback pawls.
TO ADJUST THE MITER GAUGE
See Figure 63.
You can set the miter gauge at 0° and plus or minus 45°
with the miter gauge stop pin and adjustable stop screws.
NOTE: The miter gauge provides close accuracy in
angled cuts. For very close tolerances, test cuts are
recommended.
 Loosen knob and pull out on stop pin to rotate miter
gauge base past stop screws.
 Loosen the lock nut of the 0° stop screw at the stop pin
with a 8 mm wrench.
 Place a combination square against the miter gauge rod
and the miter gauge base.
 If the rod is not square, loosen the knob, adjust the rod,
and tighten the knob.
 Adjust the 0° stop screw until it rests against the stop pin.
 Adjust the plus and minus 45° stop screws using a 45°
triangle and the steps above.
TO CHECK THE ALIGNMENT OF THE RIP
FENCE TO THE BLADE
See Figure 64 - 66.
The rip fence must be parallel to the saw blade and the miter
gauge grooves.
WARNING:
A misaligned rip fence can cause kickbacks and
jams. To reduce the risk of injury, always maintain
proper rip fence alignment.
 Unplug the saw.
 Remove the blade guard, riving knife, and anti-kickback
pawls. Raise the blade by turning the height/bevel adjust-
ing handwheel clockwise.
 Verify the blade is parallel to the miter gauge groove as
described in the Adjusting the Blade Parallel to the Miter
Gauge Groove (Removing Heel) section in Operations.
 Move the low fence so it faces away from the blade and
install the rip fence.
 Move the rip fence near the saw blade (about three inches
away) and lock the rip fence in place with the locking
lever.

RULER
 Mark beside one of the blade teeth at the front of the
blade. Using a ruler, measure the distance from the inside
face of the blade tooth to the to the inside face of the rip
fence.
NOTE: For greater accuracy, place the marked blade
tooth on top of the ruler.
 Turn the blade so the marked tooth is at the back.
 Move the ruler to the rear and again measure the distance
from the inside face of the blade tooth to the inside face
of the rip fence. If the distances are the same, the blade
and the rip fence are parallel.
