Applicable only for computers that are shipped with fingerprint reader.

Prerequisites

NOTE:
The power button with fingerprint reader is shipped only with the non-touchscreen configuration of the Inspiron 7380.

Remove the
base
cover.

Remove the
wireless
card.

Remove the
I/O
board.

Procedure

Open the latch and disconnect the power button with fingerprint reader cable from the system board.

Open the latch and disconnect the power button with fingerprint reader cable from the power button with fingerprint reader
connector cable.

Peel off the power button with fingerprint reader cable from the fan.

Remove the two screws (M2x2.5) securing the power button with fingerprint reader to the palm-rest assembly.

Peeling off the cable connector of the power button with fingerprint reader from the keyboard bracket. Then lift the power button
with fingerprint reader from the slot on the palm-rest assembly.
