NOTE: Do not leave appliance unattended when in operation.

How to toast


Fire Hazard.
Do not leave oven unattended during toasting.


Function/Temp Knob must be in TOAST position or unit may not toast properly.

  1. Place bread on oven/broil rack in the UP position (u-shaped rather than n-shaped).
  2. Set Function/Temp Knob to TOAST.
  3. Rotate Toast Shade Selector/Timer Knob past 5 and then back to desired toast color.
  4. The bell will sound at the end of Toast cycle.
    NOTE: To stop during a toasting cycle, turn Toast Shade Selector/Timer Knob to OFF.

Toasting tips

  • WHEN MAKING MORE THAN ONE BATCH OF TOAST, THE TOAST SHADE SELECTOR SHOULD BE SET TO A LIGHTER COLOR ON THE SECOND BATCH TO GET THE SAME SHADE AS THE FIRST.
  • For even browning, place bread in center of oven/broil rack.
  • To toast regular toaster pastry, frozen pastry, or waffles, select a light color and toast directly on oven/broil rack. If pastry has a glaze or frosting, use baking pan.
  • The number of slices of bread, bread freshness, and starting temperature of oven will affect toast color. Adjust Toast Shade Selector to achieve desired color.

How to bake


Fire Hazard.

  • Keep one inch between food and heating element.
  • Do not use oven cooking bags.
  • Do not heat foods in plastic containers.
  • Follow food manufacturers' instructions.


Preheat the oven before baking.

Baking food in the center of the oven will yield best results.

  1. Set Function/Temp Knob to desired baking temperature. Rotate Timer Knob past 5 and then back to 5 to preheat oven for 5 minutes before beginning to bake.
  2. After oven is preheated, place food on baking pan and slide directly into appropriate rack slot. Set Timer to desired time by rotating it past 5 and then to desired baking time or ON. The indicator light will come on and oven will begin baking.
  3. When finished, turn OFF (O). Unplug from outlet.

Baking tips

  • Most foods should be baked according to package or recipe directions. Watch carefully and adjust time or temperature if necessary.
  • For baked potatoes, bake at 425ºF (220ºC) for 1 hour or until done.

How to broil


Fire Hazard.

  • Keep one inch between food and heating element.
  • Do not use oven cooking bags.
  • Do not heat foods in plastic containers.
  • Follow food manufacturers' instructions.
  1. Place oven/broil rack in the DOWN position (n-shaped rather than u-shaped) over the baking pan. Load with food and slide them together into the appropriate rack slot.
    How to broil
  2. Set Function/Temp Knob to BROIL.
  3. Set Timer to desired time by rotating it past 5 and then to desired broiling time or ON. The indicator light will come on. Only top heating element will come on during the broil function.
  4. Halfway through cooking time, or when food has browned, turn food over to brown and cook other side.
  5. When finished, turn OFF (O). Unplug from outlet.

Broiling tips

  • For best results, do not preheat when broiling.
  • Always allow at least 1 inch between food and heating element.
  • Single-serving meats are broiled to doneness in approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

NOTE: Test foods for safe internal cooking temperature using a meat thermometer. Visit foodsafety.gov for more information on safe internal cooking temperatures.

Cleaning the oven


Electrical Shock Hazard.

  • Failure to clean the oven interior regularly may result in fire hazard.
  • Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off pad and touch electrical parts, causing a risk of electric shock.

For best performance and long life, clean toaster oven regularly.

  1. Unplug oven and allow to cool.
  2. Wash oven/broil rack and baking pan in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry. Do not use abrasive cleansers or steel wool.
  3. To clean the inside of the oven, wipe oven walls, bottom of oven, and glass door with a damp, soapy cloth. Repeat with a damp, clean cloth. For stubborn stains, use a plastic scouring pad.
  4. To clean outside of oven, wipe with damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleansers.

To clean crumb tray

  1. Remove baking pan and oven/broil rack from oven.
  2. Tilt oven back. Push handle down to unlock crumb tray. Pull tray down and out.
  3. Gently shake crumbs out of tray and wipe with a damp, clean cloth. NOTE: Crumb tray is not removable.

Troubleshooting

The toaster oven will not heat

  • Make sure electrical outlet is working and oven is plugged in.
  • Set Function/Temperature Knob to 350°F (175ºC).
  • Turn ON/OFF Knob to ON.
  • The indicator light should now be lit.

The toaster oven will not toast

  • Make sure electrical outlet is working and oven is plugged in.
  • Set Function/Temperature Knob to TOAST.
  • Select toast color.
  • The indicator light should now be lit. The oven will not toast properly unless the ON/OFF Knob is set to TOAST.
