The "Time required for the stopwatch function to be available" figure is an estimate of the amount of time
required to expose the stopped watch to light and charge the watch until the stopwatch function is available.
Although the function can be used without charging the watch for this amount of time, the stopwatch function
may quickly become unusable. Charge the watch using these times as a guide.
* The required charging time slightly varies depending on the model of the watch.

■ How to charge the battery

B
Expose the dial to light to charge the watch.
To ensure optimal performance of the watch, make
sure that the watch is kept sufficiently charged at all
times.
* Be careful to make sure that the watch does not get hot when it is charging. (The operating temperature range is
-10°C to +60°C.)
* When you first start using the watch or starting it after it stopped due to a lack of charge, charge the watch sufficiently
using the table on P.26 as a guide.
When the energy level is low, the stopwatch
seconds hands (1/100-second, 1/10-second,
second) point to the 6 o'clock position.
If energy is completely depleted after that, all

hands move to the 12 o'clock position and the
watch stops.

• If the energy is depleted while the stopwatch is operating, the measurement may be reset.

Charging the battery

Under the following situations, the energy of the watch is
likely to be depleted, resulting in stoppage of the watch:
• The watch is concealed under a sleeve.
• The watch is used or stored under conditions where
it cannot be exposed to light for a long time.
